June 28 | mesh is good for you.
Alright. Mesh is the shit. Especially for a New York Summer. Last seen at Dr. Jays and Transit.

June 25 | "why the creative shall inherit the economy"
Seems like I've been talking about shoes too much. For those of you in the creative field who are still looking for a job, here's something to be encouraged by and think about. --> "We must abandon our prejudices regarding the sources of economic value. The production of wealth comes not simply from labor or raw materials or even intellectual brilliance. It comes from new ways to give people what they want. By matching creativity and desire, the economy will renew itself."

June 23 | fresh shops · classickicks
Here's a new feature for the site. Along the way, we'll map out the all of our favorite shops in NYC. We are doing this visually. First up, classickicks on Elizabeth Street just off Houston.

Check the Feature!

June 22 | Stash Air Max Classic · Nelly CB · Air Max 1 Curry
Had a good week, picked up three in my size. I wish Stash did the Air Max 1s instead of the Classics. Check out what my friends termed the Air Uggly.

June 18 | Lodown Magazine · Haze dunks
Lodown is perhaps my second favorite international magazine second only to Relax. Though I can only read about half of Lodown, most of the writting is in German and some is in English. What's great about Lodown is that it's the only magazine that uses street/urban art correctly. There are tons of magazines trying to incorporate graffiti but the results are always lousy. The horizontal format and the layouts make the magazine feel more like a book than a magazine. Regarding the Haze Dunks, I am not really feeling them. Though the box is really cool and the LOs are somewhat cool. They look pretty ugly.

June 11 | retrokid retrospective · Conveyor · fred segal
I was just doing a reading and surfing and came upon Retrokid's website. The website has kick ass content including some of the freshest kicks around with a short summary about that particular shoe. Well if you want to see some of the kicks in person, about 50 of the rarest in the world make sure to check out Conveyor at Fred Segal this. It's Saturday June 14, 2003, 12-6pm. I won't be able to make it since I am stuck on the East Coast. Go see the kicks at Conveyor or see them at the site.

June 10 | Kicks Style - The international street magazine

There are a few Sneaker Magazine out there but I've not been able to get my hands on any of them. It's good to visit Kinokuniya regularly, completely fresh on the magazine rack is Kicks Style. Burning features with articles on Nike Skateboarding, Nike NYC, Reebok S.W.A.T. and an interview with Bruce Kilgore. There are some cool layouts and the photography is excellent. Lots and lots of pictures of sneakers. Pick it up before the issues disappear. It's strange though, this issue is Volume 3 and I am pretty sure I've seen an older issue of Kicks Style. Why is it that it's called the World Premier Issue. ??

June 10 | Nike Metro Plus C
These are lightest feeling kicks I've ever worn. The mesh upper is real airy. It's the perfect summer sneaker. I've only seen them at Transit on Broadway.

June 9 | Stash Air max Classics
Is June going to be Stash Month? To be released on June 20th: the Stash Air Max Classics. BURNING colorway! Don't freak out the uptown people, lining up outside NikeTown and all. NORT · Stussy · Alife Rivington · NikeTown will be have them. We'll probably kick it outside NORT again. Mr. Stash was passing out Poland Springs during the Air Force 1 release. This event will benefit the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment. Read the rest of the detail and see the pictures at Fatlace.com.

June 9 | June Magazines · Giant robot 29
Giant Robot has been on my reading list since issue 27. I am really digging the content of the current issue. Charles M. Schluz feature, Yao Ming feature, Medicom Toys, John To and more. Not award winning layouts but content is what counts here. Perhaps missing a sneaker feature as well, but it's ok, I am still digging it.

June 8 | History of bathing ape & stussy
I was at Kinokuniya the other day and came across this magazine. It's unusual that the zine doesn't have an english title. It's a great magazine to pick up if you are into BAPE and Stussy gear. Inside are two features of the History of the two giants.

June 4 | Nike Dunk SB Summer 2003
The new SBs as I see them are reallll nice. Though I only like one of them all black with a red swoosh. Seems like Nike's releasing more colorways with each new line. hmmm...This could get outta hand. They are scheduled to drop sometime this month. UPDATE: the pictures were deleted. I'll get some pictures for an update soon.

Pretty good two weeks of kicks, first Supreme Dunk re-release two weeks ago, and the Stash Air Force I release on Monday. Got there around around 7:30 and spent an hour looking for parking. Chilled with Danny and Sangeetha til around 11:45 when the line started moving.
