Oct 27 | sneaker magazines · metropop & sole collector
Wow! I didn't think we would see any sneaker magazines when we first got started here at freshnessmag.com. We even thought of doing one. We would never have been able to compete. Well, the recent batch is killer! // First up. Metropop, I searched for 1 long week trying to hunt down a copy in NYC, finall found the last one at the 8th Street B&N. I am totall impressed and in awe of this "Annual" of the sneaker culture. Nearly 200 pages of stories, interviews, photos, ads, collectors, cuties related to sneakers. How did they do it? Does Fixins.com ring any bells? This annual is a crossover between fixins.com and metropop. We hope to see more of these crossovers. Click below for some images from the mag. // Sole Collector puts out it's premier issue. First off big ups to our boy Retrokid doing his thing. The first issue is pretty cool. The content is killer with interviews, lots of photos, shop features and of course the RK corner. Things that can be improved are some of the layouts and color correction can be better. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Oct 27 | eric so · travel-master
Freshness Exclusive: At the close of 2003, Eric So created Travel-Master: a 7-inch tall man of metal, who had just backpacked through Hong Kong. As part of the package, So has included a View-Master viewer, and a custom reel featuring seven stereo 3D images of celebrated tourist spots that Travel-Master visited on his trip to Hong Kong.
Standing at a towering 7 inches, Travel-Master is made of poseable metal, for your sculpting pleasure. He is paired with the vintage View-Master, which was introduced to the world at the 1939 World's Fair, in New York City. Originally intended as a postcard substitute, it quickly moved beyond stationary stores to become a popular toy. So check out this little man, who will be available in a rainbow of colors. The release date is still unknown.

Oct 24 | DUEL UPDATE: Click here for a good time!
Brooklyn clothing line, DUEL, has been up to something. While we have been busy enjoying the sun and playing during the summer months, these guys have been storing up for winter. Coming to us with designs that are caught up in the mix between; graffiti, natural elements, and philosophical strategies, illustrating a softer side to masculine design elements with undertones of free speech and subconscious thought. For all you free thinkers out there. Understandably these goodies are only available in women's sizes. As DUEL makes its way into closets and dressers around the globe keep one eye on the website to see what projects go on.
